What is your home town?
How long have you been doing triathlons, running or swimming?
I have been a “runner” since 1998 when I joined the middle school cross-country and track teams. Growing up, I ran for Fishers Junior High and Hamilton Southeastern High School. After that I was recruited and ran for Butler University. Post graduation I ventured into the multi-sport world where I eventually raced Triathlon professionally for four years.
What is your favorite piece of training equipment? What is your nickname?
Outside of pizza, my favorite piece of training equipment are my running shoes. On a good day they get you from the start line to the finish line. On a great day they seem to erase all the stress in the world!
What is your favorite pre-race meal?
Large pepperoni pizza, preferably from Greeks Pizzeria!
What do you do to recover from a hard workout?
I love to jump in a pair of the Normatec Recovery boots and take a quick (or if time allows, long) nap!
What is your favorite race?
The Indiana High School Cross Country Championship race. There is only one division, regardless of school size or class, so there is only ONE state champion each year in Indiana. Think of Hoosiers for all the basketball fans, now equate that to running.
Why do I work at Endurance House or Why do I enjoy working for Endurance House?
Endurance House is not a job, rather a passion. We are fortunate to interact with individuals of all ability levels and at different parts of their journey. Our customers may be looking to live a healthier lifestyle, lose a few pounds, join a couch to 5k program, dabble in their first 5k or triathlon, and even qualify for a world championships.
I enjoy being part of their journey, whether it is a goal achieved or overcoming unforeseen obstacles. Being an endurance athlete myself I have had the highest of highs and the lowest of lows so I love to share my tips and advice from my own experiences in hopes.
Running, Swimming, and Cycling can sometimes be a lonely sport with all the solitude training in the early morning and late nights, so it is amazing to be part of the Endurance House community surrounded by so many like-minded people!
